The Storchenwiege baby sling, developed with midwives and babywearing consultants, is made of 100% cotton and offers optimal adjustment and support thanks to its special weave. It is versatile, suitable for newborns to toddlers and allows different carrying methods: in front of the stomach, on the back or on the hip. The shrink-proof fabric is washable up to 60°C. Annual tests by an independent institute guarantee safety, non-toxic dyes and quality - completely "Made in Germany"

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the world's most important label for textiles tested for harmful substances. Textiles that carry this label are good for your well-being and that of your children.
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 states: Babies require special protection!
This is why the strictest criteria apply to product class I for certification according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Particularly high requirements are set because of the close contact with the skin. For example, finishes containing formaldehyde are excluded, and the requirement for saliva resistance ensures that nothing rubs off when babies suck on it.
Our products are tested every year by independent institutes. The "OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Product Class I" certificate is valid for 12 months. Therefore, the certification must be renewed annually.

The special thing about Storchenwiege cloths
Storchenwiege baby slings are manufactured regionally in Germany and the use of ecologically safe yarns and dyes is a matter of course. With us you will find baby slings made of 100% cotton.
The special weave and the right choice of thread thickness and number in both directions create a special, diagonally elastic fabric construction. The cloth hardly gives in lengthways or crossways, but can be stretched slightly diagonally and thus adapts perfectly to the baby. Our slings are not too thick (surface weight approx. 225 grams per square meter), are easy to tie, do not give in too much, gently enclose the baby and support it optimally. And they do not "stretch out". So you do not have to constantly tighten the tied cloth and even larger, heavier children can be carried with it. The knot at the end of each tying method is very stable and firm. Storchenwiege baby slings therefore offer all-round comfortable carrying.

Where are the Storchenwiege slings made and what is special about our fabric?
The fabric for all our products is woven with yarn-dyed cotton threads in Upper Lusatia, very close to us. The textile industry here has a centuries-old tradition, and it is nice that we can make a small contribution to preserving this textile tradition in Saxony and securing jobs.
A special feature of our slings is that they hardly shrink when washed. This is possible because the fabric is sanforized purely mechanically. This so-called shrink treatment takes place without the use of water, chemicals or other additives. We can therefore offer you the security that your baby sling will only shrink minimally when washed at home (around 2%) and you can be sure that you can still use the length and width of the sling after washing.
What processes do we use in weaving?
In our shop you will find various woven fabrics. We offer the following types of fabric:
Cross twill - the striped models as well as our baby carriers.
Diamond twill - all Leo models are made in this weave. The special thing about this fabric is its beautiful pattern of small diamonds. Our Leos are available in countless colors, they can be ideally combined with your own clothing, are unisex and very chic.
